February Program Highlights

There’s so much going on this month in the Children’s Room! You won’t want to miss all our fun new programs!

On Friday, February 3 come visit for a Chinese New Year Celebration from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Are you curious to know why Chinese New Year has a different date? Join our program and listen to books explaining it all, along with music, dance, and a craft to celebrate.

Maker Mondays for tweens continues on Mondays, February 6, 13 & 27 at 4 p.m. Put on a lab coat and enter the Maker Lab! Join Giselle from The Learning Hub and create new things and discover the world around you!

If you like Maker Mondays, you will love our new TinkerLab! Join us on Tuesdays, February 7, 14 & 28 at 4 p.m. This month we’ll be working on stop motion “Claynimation”, light-up circuit Valentines, K’nex erector sets, and Spirograph Art!

Join us for Make and Take for a Valentine Gift on Friday, February 10 at 4 p.m. and Winter Clay Figures on Friday, February 17 at 4 p.m.

Knitting for Kids is back on Saturdays, February 11 & 18 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Join Carmen Barbosa and learn how to knit!

There is something going on all week long during school vacation week! Join us for Kahbahbloom Afternoons at 2 p.m. February 21-24. There’s something going on every day! You alos won’t want to miss movies, storytimes, and art lesson! Check the calendar for all the listings!

You also won't want to miss some special events in conjunction with the Teen Zone, a Poképalooza Pokémon Party will be held on Thursday, February 2 from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Children’s Room. This all ages party is a celebration of all things Pokémon! Bring your cards, your phones, your 3DS, or just yourself, and join in our Poké-celebration! We’ll have crafts, games and food for pokéfans of all ages, plus non-stop lure drops on the library pokéstops for Pokémon Go players! We’ll also be hosting Masters of Minecraft on Wednesdays, February 1, 8, 15, & 22 from 4 to 5 p.m. for ages 8 to 17.

March Program Highlights

This month in the Children's Room we'll be celebrating Reading Month with lots of fun activities and programs!

We're very excited to kick-off the month with a Dr. Seuss Birthday Bash on Thursday, March 2 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Help us celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday with stories, songs, cake and a fun craft!

We have a special Saturday Movie Matinee on Saturday, March 11 at 2:30 p.m. with Finding Dory. Join Dory and friends on a search for her long-lost parents.

We also have all your favorite storytimes, including Stuffed Animal Stories every Wednesday at 10 a.m., Top Notch Toddlers every Thursday at 11 a.m., and Baby Bounce every Friday at 11 a.m. You also won't want to miss Paws to Read on Wednesdays, March 1, 15 & 29 at 3:30 p.m. where you can read to a pet therapy dog!

There will also be all your favorite STEAM and maker programs like Preschool Science every Monday at 10 a.m. and Maker Mondays every Monday at 4 p.m. You won't want to miss TinkerLab on Tuesdays at 4 p.m., Minecraft every Wednesday at 4 p.m., Make and Take on Fridays, March 3, 10, 17 & 24 at 4 p.m., and Construction and Lego Club on Saturdays at 9:30 a.m. Learn and build important skills while having tons of fun!

The Make and Take on Friday, March 17 at 4 p.m. will be a extra special with a Saint Patrick's Day Cookie and Craft. Come decorate a cookie with yummy green toppings and stay for a fun craft! All materials provided. While supplies last.

Finally, you won't want to miss Knitting for Kids on Saturdays at 11:15 a.m. Children interested in learning how to knit are welcome. Stick around on Saturday, March 25 for an Art Lesson at 2:30 p.m. in celebration of National Reading Month.
