Community Info Session on Main Library Renovation

Worcester Public Library Invites Community to Two Information Sessions on  Main Library Renovation Project

Sessions will be held Thursday, November 16 and Wednesday, December 6

Worcester, MA – The Worcester Public Library (WPL) invites the public to two information sessions on the proposed renovations of the Main Library in downtown Worcester. The sessions will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 16 and Wednesday, December 6 in the Saxe Room of the Main Library, 3 Salem Square.

The sessions will include a presentation on the proposed changes with representatives from LLB Architects/Lerner Ladds Bartels, the architectural firm hired to oversee the project. The information sessions will focus on the scope of the project, how it will affect the library experience of WPL patrons, our vision for the future, and what this will mean for the downtown area. There will be a time for attendees to ask questions and share their thoughts after the presentation.

The Main Library is a key partner within the Theatre District, as well as the Downtown Revitalization District. The library project is one piece in the ongoing improvements to the area, and would align the physical building with the growing downtown community.

“We’re fortunate to be in a position to play a role as a major service provider to all the new residents and visitors to the downtown area,” said Geoffrey Dickinson, Head Librarian. “We’re excited to have the opportunity to open up the library to the Common, and support the City Manager’s vision for the future of Worcester.”
