Museum Passes

Thanks to the generosity of the Friends of the Worcester Public Library we are able to offer many passes for free or reduced admission to local and regional attractions. With the help of the library pass program, you and your family or friends can explore new places and revisit favorites.

Patrons 18 and older with a valid card from any member of the CW MARS network may reserve one pass at a time online with their library card number and pin. You may reserve your pass up to one month before your visit, but can pick up no sooner than 1 day before for returnable passes/7 days for coupon passes. In addition to reserving online, you can also reserve a pass by calling any of our library locations.

Each location of the Worcester Public Library offers different passes. Keep in mind some locations are closed on the weekends, and may have reduced hours. If you reserve a weekend pass from one of these branches, you will need to pick it up on a weekday. For locations and hours information click here. Please note that some cultural institutions require you to make reservations in addition to the library pass. Additionally, several museums are now offering electronic printable passes. If you have an email the pass will be sent to you. Without an email, patrons can book the pass by calling the library and can then pickup at the library.

Each returnable pass is reserved for a specific day and can only be picked up the day before the reservation. If the library is closed the day of and day before the reservation, the pass can be picked up the last day the library is open before the reservation. Non-coupon passes should be returned at the library service desk before 11 a.m. the day following their use or the next day the library is open. Coupon passes are available 7 days before your reservation and do not need to be returned.

Patrons must have their library card or photo identification to pick up Museum Passes. If picking up pass for a family member, the person picking up pass must bring the library card of the person who made the reservation.

A FEW IMPORTANT REMINDERS:

We do our best to keep this page updated with current information from the museums. We recommend checking the particular museum's website to find out the most accurate and up-to-date information concerning open hours, museum pass discounts, benefits, and restrictions before your visit.

A confirmation e-mail from our online reservation system is not a museum pass; however, some museums are now offering electronic printable passes. Please read the details of each pass carefully when you reserve and call the library if you have any questions.

The late-return fine for any museum pass is $5 per day with a $20 maximum. In addition to the $5 per day fee, an inconvenience fee of $15 will be charged if the late return of a pass prevented another patron from using it. The fee for a lost pass is $30. Please call and speak with a circulation supervisor if you have extenuating circumstances and cannot return your pass on time.

Patrons cannot reserve a museum pass if they owe $10 or above in fines or billed items.
